Business Need
A national healthcare organization needed to reduce the manual work required to determine whether members should be reviewed for Coordination of Benefits. The proposed automation needed to evaluate information from multiple systems, apply population-specific rules, preserve historical changes, and explain each determination to operations employees.
My Role

Identified the systems containing relevant member and COB information.
Facilitated discussions between business and technology teams.
Documented requirements for each member population included in the automation.
Helped establish the system of record and historical-data retention requirements.
Created and maintained rules determining whether a member required review.
Developed reason codes and descriptions explaining each automated determination.
Ensured operators could identify and track changes in a member’s COB history.
